What I'm Thinking About

Philosophy and Approach

I recently published a case study entitled Making Broken Systems Work: A Story of Repair and Innovation. This “booklet” is a first person narrative of what it was like to lead the work of the California College Guidance Initiative. It includes what we did, how we did it, the centrality of our organizational culture in our success, and an appendix filled with tools that I found useful along the way.

I’m in a lot of conversations about the impact of trauma – personal, developmental, institutional and systemic – on our well being and our ability to drive progress; as well as the emergent understanding of the full spectrum of neuro-spiciness among us.

I’ve also been doing a lot of thinking about different ways to define value, design governance systems and invest in community. I find Indy Johar’s work most provocative on these topics.

I’m always open to juicy conversations about how we find our way back to ourselves, each other and the planet we all share, so hit me up if you’ve got ideas to share.
